    What people ask before they paste

    What does URLsift do?
    It is a link extractor. You paste any text and get every URL in it as a clean list, one per line. It works on tables, terminal output, markdown, HTML and plain notes.
    Is my text uploaded anywhere?
    No. The page runs fully in your browser, and there is no account. Its security policy lets it talk to its own server only, and it never sends your text there. We count page visits with Vercel Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and never sees what you paste.
    Can anyone else see my links?
    No. Your last paste and your link history are saved only in this browser, on this device. Nobody else can see them, and neither can we. Clear the box or choose "Forget history" in Options to remove them.
    Why were my links cut in half before?
    Terminal windows and table renderers wrap long text at a fixed column width, so a long URL continues on the next line. URLsift measures the column, sees that a line ends inside a link, and joins the pieces back into one URL.
    Which links does it find?
    Links that start with http://, https://, ftp:// or www. Links without a scheme, such as example.com or gamma.app/docs/page, are found too. File names such as index.html are not. Trailing punctuation such as a full stop or a closing bracket is removed. Links hidden behind text on a copied web page are picked up from the page's HTML.
    Can it remove tracking parameters?
    Yes. Turn on "Strip tracking parameters" in Options to drop utm_*, fbclid, gclid and similar. Referral and affiliate parameters such as ref= are kept, because they change where the link goes.
    What does "Seen before" mean?
    The link was pasted or copied in an earlier batch on this browser. Turn on "Hide links seen before" to keep only new links in the list, so Copy gives you just the ones you have not handled yet.
